Don’t be normal.
Normal is broke.
What is being Normal?
58% of Americans live paycheck to paycheck, and that’s not because they don’t earn enough, but more so because they don’t have a plan.
Fun fact: Some of those folks earn well over $100K a year and aren’t sure where the money went at the end of each month
7 out of 10 Americans stress about their finances, so when there’s a price change in gas, those new expenses get added to your mental plate because the impact of the cost of goods and services isn’t tracked anywhere. Not tracking it against your income leads to mental strain, which no one deserves.
59% of Americans can’t cover a $1,000 emergency out of their savings. Interestingly enough, those who feel as though they may not fall into this camp would plan on using credit cards to cover that emergency
Most people think budgeting is about restriction. Hint: It’s not.
Many people think that when someone says “You need to get on a budget”…
…is like saying…
…“Stop spending on the fun things,” or saying “no” all the time.
But that’s not budgeting, that’s scarcity.
Real budgeting is about freedom. It’s about giving every dollar a job before it disappears.
It’s about saying “no” to things that don’t bring you closer to your goals and desires.
Randy’s take: We shouldn’t let others decide what our goals are. Also, when you say “yes” to something, people will respect you more because they see the self-discipline you have.
Budgeting =
Gratitude + Discipline + Freedom

Telling your money what to do is about ownership, not perfection.
It’s about practicing discipline and gratitude, which, by the way, are ingredients to a happier life.
